Facebook Gives Kitty Operation

Harvey if a 4 month year old kitten who was born without bones in his front two legs. Although he is doing fine now, his rare condition will cause spinal problems in the future. The surgery will be too expensive for the adoption center to pay. Luckly, Facebook donors funraised the money for this kitty and Harvey went through a succsessful operation. All together the donors raised about 5000 for him in a matter of two days. He will recover in a few months and will be put up for adoption after he is all healed!

Baby Elephant Rescued

While looking for his mother a baby elephant got trapped in the bottom of a well in India. The baby elephant was only about 10 months old. He was stuck in there for over 12 hours until they were able to get him out with the help of a bulldozer. There was a hundred bystanders making sure he stayed alive and waiting for the bulldozer to arive. They got him out by making a ramp from the bulldozer and after he was freed he ran off in the forest and the people chased after him until he found his mother. The people were happy that they got him out before the larger family of elephants came and went looking for him because they would have destroyed the area and the crops.

Kelly Hildebrandt and Kelly Hidlebrandt Getting Divorced

Kelly Hidlebrandt and Kelly Hidlebrandt met over facebook in 2008 and were married a year later. They only had one thing in common and that was their name. Kelly is a pure Flordia girl while Kelly is a southern boy. They only kne each other for a year and most of their relationship relied onphone calls and e-mails. Their marriage made it to People's magizine and the Today Show. Their reason for this divorce is irreconcilable differences. He moved back to Texas and she stayed in Flordia. Apparently you need more in common than just a name to make a marriage work.

Middle Finger Christmas Lights

In Louisiana a woman named Sarah Childs, put up a light display baring the middle finger to her neighbors. The city and the police want it to be removed however the judge has not made a ruling so the display should stay for another week at least. The police had threatened her throughout the holidays but she and the American Civil Liberties Union sued the city. There is an order prohibiting city officials from interfering with the lights. She put up the lights in the first place because she believed her neighbors stole her dog. She also intends on keeping them up even though the holidays are over. She will keep them up as long as she can.

Student Suspended for Racism

In western Wisconsin a 9th grade male student from Baldwin-Woodville High School was suspended for putting a KKK symbols and a noose on an African American female’s student’s desk. She was one of four African American students at the high school. She is a foster child who had been made fun of for the two years but nothing ever as terrible as this. The other students are now saying that she had over-reacted to the incident. The boy who did it was only going to get 1 day suspension but after the NAACP contacted the school, he received a longer suspension. The Principle of the school says that he is disappointed by the unacceptable behavior, but he isn’t doing anything to prevent something like this from happening again.
