An 11 year old killer whale named Nakai was recently injured
and was left with a giant hole that has left his jawbone almost completely exposed.
He was injured during a show when he was attacked by the other captive males.
PETA’s president Ingrid Newkirk stated that “you can’t keep three three males
together in what is, for them a fishpond or fishbowl.” It is obvious that they
would feel threatened and that they would become aggressive against each other.
There have been multiple complaints because the law requires that they have to
keep the incompatible animals separate. However Nakai is recovering and is
starting to interact again.
